Gary - What are you using for bait? I would try using large minnows with a very slow presentation. A slip bobber will allow you to set the exact depth and put the bait right in front of the fish. Let us know how everything turns out.

i found a deep hole at berlin 35 to 45 feet my finder says fish are on bottom and suspended just up from the bottom but i can't get a bite any suggestions?

Lastnight I fished at the Berlin Dam and I didn't catch anything. I also fished a bit upstream and didn't have any luck there. Do walleye spawn between the Berlin dam and Lake Milton and if so then when?

I was at Sandusky River on Saturday and no one was really catching anything. There were about 30-40 people fishing and I only seen two Walleye that was caught. The river was moving pretty fast because of all the rain and the water was muddy. The Sandusky River temperature is still probably around 41-43 degrees so the walleye won't be in there good for about another week. Hopefully

I was at Edge Water yesterday evening from about 5-9pm and I didn't catch any walleye. I tried so many different spots and and lures and nothing worked. The water was pretty rough cause it was windy. The crappie out at berlin lake have been biting extremely well. Take out a bucket of minnows and enjoy the fishing. We caught 43 in four hours.

Last Sunday at Lake Erie we got a two man walleye limit and that made up from the day before. Sunday we fished in about 60 to 65 feet of water and most of the walleyes were caught closer to the bottom. They seemed to like the copper backs with red, yellow, and orange. The walleyes averaged about 18 inches.

Mahoning River (Stark County) – North of the water plant near Alliance, anglers are experiencing good white bass and crappie fishing in about two to three feet of water. A jig tipped with a white twister tail suspended below a bobber is working well. A parking lot is located near the water plant or anglers can park on the north end of the State Route 225 Bridge that is currently under construction.

I was at Berlin all day Sunday with a buddy and I didn't catch one fish. My buddy caught two bluegill and that was it. We went several places downstream starting at Rt. 14 bridge and going down by Deercreek and then fished a few streams. In the evening we saw a few guys that had caught a lot of crappie and white bass in the back streams south of berlin lake. I'll get em next time. Fishin4fun signin off.

As the water temperatures warm walleye, yellow perch and smallmouth bass fishing will improve. Lake Erie reef walleye spawning usually gets started in mid to late March and peaks in mid April. Large female walleye can be caught in the island area and around the Camp Perry reefs before and after they spawn. Numbers of male walleye can be caught during spawning on and around the reefs.
